Dear everyone,

This will be the last time we use wordpress. We have our own website, on which our blog can be read, as well as our music heard, and all this. Our first post on that site will be up later this evening. It’s at http://www.thatelectricsound.com/

Kyle

Hey everybody, Kyle here. Bored, made this:

The show we were supposed to play on Friday at Lunchbox Records…it’s been canceled. We thought everything was pretty set, but something came up with the venue.
We found more pics of us in studio: See More

Kyle ... Goofin'

Troy Drumming

AND HEY: For a taste of our new songs, check the bottom of our Facebook page.

HEY folks
Kyle here
We’ve been recording, as I hope you know by now. We’re DONE with all the important stuff. Now it’s just some finishing touches and the vocals. We may be done recording by the end of the week! Who knows…anything can happen with Tony’s magical computer program. Check out a couple of photos from today:

Jon & Tony

Tony & Computer

Tony’s doing a great job clickin’ and clackin’ on them keys what makes our noises stay in the computer instead of floating away. We’re very happy about it.

TWO SHOWS you should know about!
Nov 13 in Mt Holly, NC @ 128 Main St
Nov 19 in Charlotte, NC @ Lunchbox Records, 1419-A Central Ave
BE THERE; there is no “or.”

The Nov 19 Flyer

Hey guys,
We managed to sneak around to the audience side of the stage and get some sweet pictures of ourselves during our last gig…

Kyle!

Here’s Kyle singin’

Standing a bit still.

Move around, Kyle!

Here’s Chris:

Chris Rockin the Bass

Doing a much better job of rocking out.

Leg up and everything.

Jon was there too!

Jon was there…rocking as well. So that’s good.

We have one picture of Troy, and it’s really blurry. Troy’s not very good at photographing himself mid-motion:

Sooo anyway. We’re in the process of recording, and so far we’ve gotten drums, bass, and Kyle’s guitars all tracked. Next should be Jon’s guitars and then just vocals! And we’ll be done! WOO! More details as we have them.
ONE MORE THING – Kyle’s going to broadcast live from this page tonight (Monday) at 8pm EST. So be there! Or you could be square, I suppose. It’ll be up to you.

We’re playing in a battle of the bands on October 20th. Tickets are needed for entry. Now that you know that…

We’re doing a couple of things in the future that you might find interesting.
1. Recording. I’ve said we were talking about that before, but I’m making no promises this time, just telling you what’s up – in January we’re going to release 3 songs. Then over the subsequent months we’ll release single tracks at a rate of one every couple of months during 2011. By the end of the year you should have about 10 new tracks from us…so get excited!
2. The BlogTV webcast. If you didn’t read about this in a previous blog entry, I’ll update you: We have an account on a website called BlogTV, which allows you to broadcast live to as many people as you want. You guys can all come see us there. I think we’re going to move that to Monday nights, but you guys should let us know when, during the week, the best time is. Leave us a comment on facebook?

Hey guys, update time.
We have a new bass player named Chris. He filled in with us on our last gig, and we like him a lot, he’s great at learning songs and playing onstage, sooo we’re keeping him around. You can see him in our new band pic:

Ain’t he cute?

Not a bad picture of us, I must say…
Jeana’s got photo takin’ skills.
Left to right it’s Chris, Troy, Kyle (me), and Jon

Now that you know…

Kyle (I!) will be starting an Electric Daylight webcast on our BlogTV channel. The show will run Wednesdays from 7 to 8, and Saturdays from 6 to 7. I’ll try to have the other guys there each time, but scheduling is tough and we won’t always get everyone. It’ll usually just be us playing our songs acoustically, and answering any questions you guys have, hanging out and having fun. I’m looking forward to it.
So bookmark that BlogTV page and meet me at 6!

Hey guys,
We’ll have a few T-shirts done soon and everyone who’s on the mailing list will get one by the weekend. If you don’t know – the way to get a free T-shirt is by signing up to the Electric Daylight mailing list on Reverb Nation!

We’re using our YouTube channel (channel name = ElectricDaylight) for semi-regular posts. Most of it will be our songs performed by us…occasionally we might post an update that’s just for the YT subscribers, and certainly once we start producing videos they’ll appear on that channel. All in all, you may want to subscribe. Here’s our latest post:

Before you go – as many of you know, we’re going to be on WINR, Winthrop University’s student-run campus radio station. That’ll be happening 8-10pm Tuesday evening, and you can listen live at this location:
WINR
So hey! Go subscribe to our YouTube channel for more live vids! And we’ll use Facebook to remind you about Tuesday evening 🙂

Despite Jon not making it out to the show last Monday, I think we did a decent job. Parmalee had an incident with some armed robbers that forced themselves onto the band’s tour bus…one of the robbers was shot dead, and Parmalee’s drummer is in the hospital with critical wounds. A lot of people are hoping he’ll be okay, especially the band and the local scene in Greenville.

We’re playing a benefit show on Thursday (Sept 30) down at Toyo in Rock Hill (1988 N Cherry Rd) with Abandoned, Menice, ATA, Sunih Reed, and a DJ named Dereck. It’s gonna be an interesting show, with so many artists of different styles playing. Abandoned is a rock band, but Menice and Sunih Reed are both hip-hop artists, and I think ATA is a DJ. I couldn’t find much on ATA on Google. The show will be a benefit fundraiser for a sick child, and it’s going to be one of our best sets yet, so come on down to Rock Hill! It’s all ages!

We have Dirty Looks fully recorded, but mixing has become an issue. I’ll get it mixed while playing it through big speakers, and then in headphones it sounds like ass. Gonna have to get it mastered, I think. That’ll probably help, at least.

Recording’s been easy, even though it’s taking a while. We ought to be able to just hang out as a band for a few days and get it all done, but everyone’s so busy with school and work. It’s a bit frustrating that we have so much trouble coordinating. At least we can all get together to practice before the show Monday. It might be the biggest audience we’ve yet played for – the band we’re opening for is called Parmalee, and they’re from Greenville, NC. They seem to have a big local following – they have 27,500 myspace connections, and though I don’t know how spread out that following is, it’s a big following for them to be playing The Money. Check out their space:

http://www.myspace.com/parmalee

Their sound’s not bad…not my thing, but they do it really well. It makes me think of the Goo Goo Dolls for some reason. I think it’s the bleeding heart-type lyrics, and the fact that they write so often about women.
Their latest album is called Daylight…awkward…
YOU should come see us on Monday. If you stay for Parmalee you probably won’t regret it, even if you don’t like their music. I’m staying to see ’em.
The Money’s at 110 S Cherry Rd in Rock Hill, SC. It’s only about 30 minutes from Charlotte. Use MapQuest.
